How BMW remote start activation works
Start with your key
On supported cars, press lock three times to warm or cool the cabin. Doors stay locked; a valid key is needed to drive. App support varies by vehicle and region.
Check your vehicle
Check your VIN or registration before buying. Activation includes setup help and a function check; equipment is separate.
Book your 20-minute session
After payment, book through your email link. Have your laptop, BeamerMods Client, internet and ENET cable ready, plus an adapter if needed.

What to know before you order.
Will this work with my car?
Check your number plate or VIN before ordering. Compatibility depends on your car’s hardware and software. Diesel and plug-in hybrids are not supported.
What if remote start cannot be enabled?
If your vehicle is incompatible, we refund your activation fee. No refunds after successful activation, except where required by law.
Do I need to visit a workshop?
No. We code your car remotely. You’ll need a Windows or Mac laptop, BeamerMods Client, reliable internet and an ENET cable. Add a cable or Ethernet adapter at checkout if needed.
Will a tune or Ghost immobiliser affect remote start?
MHD and BM3 tunes are fully compatible. Custom tunes are also compatible, provided your tuner has used the latest ECU unlock method and applied the correct DME patch to support remote start.
Ghost immobilisers are fully compatible too. The engine will remote start as normal, but you'll still need to enter your Ghost code before driving off.
Is this OEM coding, and does it affect my warranty?
Factory functionality, enabled through software. No aftermarket module is installed. Warranty cover depends on your provider’s terms.
